Purpose, history and values

Young people choosing to make a difference.

Vivekananda Youth Forum is a voluntary, non-profit organisation managed by young members and inspired by the character-building ideas of Swami Vivekananda.

About the forum

Experience shaped by listening to vulnerable children.

Formed in 1987, the forum has worked with children from varied circumstances: children in Juhu’s slums, children living on Mumbai’s streets, children of sex workers in Kamathipura, and children with special needs.

This work has helped the organisation build practical knowledge of the distinct needs of children who face high levels of vulnerability.
